Welcome

COVID Safe Plan

At Construction Safety Assurance, we pride ourselves to deliver quality training, whilst keeping in mind the safety and health of our students and staff. As valued students of Construction Safety Assurance, your safety and wellbeing is our priority during this pandemic. Our staff have been trained to ensure they follow COVID-19 government safety guidelines. We will also re-evaluate the situation on a daily basis according to any official information we receive.

This is a challenging time for all of us but we are committed to maintaining a sanitary and safe environment for our staff and students.

Our class sizes are small, no more than 2-8 students. We have reconfigured our classrooms to ensure 1.5 m space between students to ensure social distancing is adhered to within the classroom, kitchen and factory where possible.

Hand sanitising stations are situated at various points outside and inside our training facility. High touch points (eg. toilets, taps, hand basins, door handles, tables, chairs, pens, calculators and light switches) are being disinfected throughout the day along with our usual thorough cleaning routine. Paper towel and a hand dryer is available for drying your hands after washing. Crockery and cutlery will be ran through a hot wash in the dishwasher at the end of each day.

Temperature checking is now mandatory at our training facility prior to entry until further notice for both students and staff. Temperatures will be checked each day before entering class and a short questionnaire regarding a COVID-19 health check will also need to be completed daily by each student.

Staff and students must wear a face covering. A face covering needs to cover both your nose and mouth. It could be a face mask, bandana, scarf or shield. If you need to dispose of your face mask, please place it in a plastic bag, seal it and place it in our outside bin.

We wish to take this opportunity to remind staff and students of the things you can be doing to protect yourself and others:

  • Tell us immediately before, during or after the course if you are feeling unwell or experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms. Do not enter our training facility if you are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms.
  • before entering our training facility, use the hand sanitiser located at either of the entrance doors
  • use the antibacterial hand wash supplied in the toilets and the kitchen
  • use the hand sanitiser provided in the training room and hand sanitising stations located throughout the training facility on a regular basis
  • wash or sanitise your hands before entering class, after using the toilet and after handling tools and equipment
  • cough or sneeze into your elbow facing away from other students and staff
  • wash your hands for at least 20 seconds after coughing or sneezing or using the toilets and use the paper towel provided or hand dryer to dry your hands
  • observe the orange crosses on the floor in the factory for social distancing during practical tasks and whilst using the kitchen
  • maintain a 1.5m safe distance from each other where possible
  • wear a mask (some tasks cannot be completed whilst wearing a mask ie. Whistle signals to the crane driver during Dogging & Rigging courses), you may need to remove your mask at times to complete certain tasks but please replace your mask immediately once able and ensure you keep 1.5 m distance from other students if you have to remove your mask temporarily

If we have a confirmed case/s of COVID-19 at our training facility, we will notify Worksafe Victoria immediately on 13 23 60 and assist with contact tracing, as per their guidelines.

I acknowledge and understand my responsibilities and have implemented this COVIDSafe Plan in the Workplace.
